Lean Production for Wineries: Register your interest
Register your interest to attend a ‘Lean Production for Wineries‘ workshop near you (subject to interest). Workshops are $10 for Australian grapegrowers and winemakers, and $55 for non-levy payers.
Lean production focuses on the identification and removal of hidden, non-essential production resulting in improved efficiency and reduced costs.
Lean production is used to sharpen the focus of wineries to help rethink production, reduce high operating costs and simplify day-to-day tasks. Lean production should not be viewed as a budget-cutting exercise nor needing to ‘make do’ with less. It is a new way of thinking about existing operations. Lean production can be implemented with little or no cost and simply requires the knowledge to identify and eliminate wasteful activities. Once implemented, lean production can allow better decision-making resulting in reduced expenditure, increased profitability, and a happier workplace.
There are many concepts, tools and templates used in lean production and these have been compiled into ‘The Lean Guide – a primer on lean production for the Australian wine industry’. The Lean Guide will assist wine businesses identify and eliminate non-essential activities, avoiding wasted effort and production and increasing business profitability.
